Grades 9-12  | Water Conservation & Careers

Connect2Next: Conservation & Careers is a three-part video series for high school students in grades 9-12, presented by the North Texas Municipal Water District. The series focuses on STEM skills, career pathways information, and connecting students to careers in the water utilities industry. Students also receive information on water conservation efforts in North Texas and the importance of environmental stewardship. Teachers and students register and access the videos through our online portal which features supplemental tools that support the program content.

The show uses an interactive web platform and engaging videos to spark meaningful classroom discussions about water conservation, responsible resource management, and future career opportunities. Designed for students in grades 9–12, the program encourages participants to think critically about how water can be used wisely and protected for future generations. Through guided discussion questions and real-world examples, students also explore a variety of career pathways and career development options, including opportunities after high school, trade school, and college.

All NTC programs align with state educational standards, including science, social studies, financial literacy, and health standards, depending on the specific program. Programs also align with national standards such as NGSS, NCAS, and Common Core.
